This site, algazal.co, is run by ALGAZAL//CO, a design practice based in Zürich, Switzerland. This page explains what personal data the site collects, why, and what your rights are. If anything is unclear, write to us at hi@algazal.co.

Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Webflow, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). When you load a page, Webflow's servers record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is standard for any website and is needed to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. Webflow keeps these logs for a limited period under its own privacy policy.
Newsletter sign-up. If you enter your email address in the Design Pills form, it is sent directly to Substack, Inc. (San Francisco, USA), which runs the newsletter. Substack stores your address and uses it to send you the newsletter; we see the address in our Substack subscriber list and nothing else. You can unsubscribe with the link in any issue, and Substack's own privacy policy applies to how it handles your data.
Email. If you write to hi@algazal.co, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and to follow up on whatever you asked.
We do not run advertising, sell data, or build profiles of visitors. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies at the moment. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
Your Canvas (algazal.co/your-canvas) lets you draw a sketch and receive it by email. When you press Send, we receive your name, your email address and the drawing itself: the image, a short time-lapse video and the lines you drew, with their timing. If you choose “This is a project”, we also receive the company or project name, the scale and the timing you select. If you choose “Send it to someone”, we also receive their name, their email address and the note you write. Along with this, our server records the date, your browser type and the country your connection comes from.
We use this to email your sketch to you and, for projects, to the studio, so that someone can reply to you personally. When you send a sketch to someone else, we use their email address only to deliver that sketch: we never write to them again or add them to any list, and the email they receive has a link to stop sketches from others. Before a sketch goes to someone else, an automated check run by Cloudflare’s AI service reads it and your note, and stops it if it contains explicit or offensive content or personal details such as a phone number. To keep automated spam out, the page may also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending. When you send a sketch, you also agree that we may write to you about the studio’s work. You can withdraw that at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of our emails or by writing to hi@algazal.co, and we will stop.
Sketches are stored by Cloudflare, Inc., and the emails are sent by Resend. We keep your sketch and your details until you ask us to delete them. We never publish a sketch, on this site or on social media, without asking you first.
Webflow may set a small number of technical cookies needed for the site to function. We do not set marketing or analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser without losing access to any part of this site.
Webflow, Substack, Cloudflare and Resend are based in the United States, so data handled by them may leave Switzerland and the EU. These companies rely on recognised safeguards for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the Swiss–US and EU–US Data Privacy Frameworks.
We process hosting data because it is necessary to run the site and keep it secure (our legitimate interest). We process your newsletter address because you asked to receive the newsletter (consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing). We process email correspondence because you contacted us. We process what you send through Your Canvas to deliver your sketch, because you asked us to, and to write to you about the studio’s work, based on the consent you give when you send it, which you can withdraw at any time. This site is subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP); where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) apply to a visitor, they apply as well.
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask for a copy of it. Write to hi@algazal.co and we will answer within a month. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU, the authority of your country; in Brazil, the ANPD.
If we add a tool that changes what this site collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before it goes live.
